Topic: HP G85 AIO Fax

I need help!! LOL I recently switched over to cogeco cable for all of my business needs. Now my fax machine will not recieve incoming faxes over the VOIP line. Anyone know a fix for this??

Other then unpluging your fax machine and repluging it back in to reset it, I have not a clue. But if your fax machine isn't to old maybe call the company up and ask them, or call your VOIP company up and ask them and tell them your problem.

They already know. They said they dont know how to set that up! Like are you kidding me??

lol that's crazy. Is it brand new ? I mean if it is then call the company up, if the dumba$$ company that makes the product doesn't know and either does your voip company then maybe call up BestBuy and ask them or if you can find a computer builder ware house in your area call them and ask them. If none of those work maybe some body else on this site knows.

Its a few years old, it worked just fine before, now that we switched over, no one seems to know how to set that up. Like, Im a IT Tech for HP, but this thing is too old for our scope, so there's NO info on it!

never worked with Fax machines however i remember someone telling me. To get the fax machine to work you have to call the company of your ISP, in this case your VOIP and tell them what is going on they have to do somthing to the lines, this is what i have been told anyway. Call them up let me know what happened

voip is not supported by hp faxes ,,,,,, they are designed for analog lines ....and the frequency/bandwidth doesnt match ..... u can try the following steps... if u hav a splitter...take it off ...and set the rings 2 answer as 6 or 7 ...... keep the ecm and the auto reduction off...... u can call up the fax no. and see if ur getting a cng pattern ring or not (the fax tone ,which varies from the normal phone ring) resets will not help here
