Night Dragon

Peering from the heavens
His form rests on high,
Stretching forth wings
To glide through the night.

True to his might
With chaos in wake
Blotting out stars
So seemingly fake.

To taunt those who hunt him
He lives for the game,
But careful in hunt,
He must always remain.

To those that wish to slay him,
He burns out their fields,
Tears their structures asunder
With talons he wields.

He laughs in loud roar
That shatters the night
Chasing the humans
Screaming in fright.

Once daylight approaches
And the sun shines it's glow
It's back to the shadows
For the black dragon knows.
