Topic: The Sweetest Thing | |

I've never really dated someone that went all out and planned something romantic. In fact, I've never even received flowers from someone (besides family or friends).
What is the sweetest thing that a significant other has done for you? |

When my ex and I lived together, he would sneak in when I was in the shower and throw a rose over the shower curtian. Needless to say we have a fun time when I got out. |

One Christmas I was so poor I had to forego a Christmas tree so that I could afford to get gifts for my children. They were only 16 months and 1 month, so I didn't think this was a very big deal. I was working a lot to try to catch us up and one night my boyfriend picked me up from work, we went and picked up my kids, and when I walked into my apartment, he'd bought and decorated a tree for us and gone on a shopping spree so there were gifts everywhere. I don't think I was able to talk for a full 15 minutes, I was so overwhelmed.

He Lit candles and sprinkled rose petals to our bedroom one Valentines day

I never did anything really sweet. I bought cards for my wife for birthdays and holidays and like that and I might have bought her flowers once. The sweetest thing that was ever done for me was she married me. It was the best thing that ever happened to me and I wish I'd treated her better while she was still alive. I like the candle and rose things I've seen here. I've heard that a real sweet thing to do is write someone a love letter on Valentine's day. Heck. I think one a month'd be something I start doing when I get married again, and I probably won't skip the flowers. Maybe once or twice a year if I can swing it. They say the best place to give a lady flowers is at her place of work. All the coworkers make a big deal out of it and it makes her feel really good!

He picked me up and we drove for HOURS in his pickup. I loved taking long drives in the country...we did this often....always looking for the biggest hill with the best view. After about a 2-3 hour drive we parked at the top of this hill. He jumped out, ran over and opened my door and lifted me out of the truck. It was so beautiful!!!!! You could see for MILES & MILES, lake after lake, & the sun was setting. (He must have found this place earlier, kept it a secret, and was very happy I liked it) It was so sweet...but the sweetest thing is what he said to me when we first got out of the truck. He said "Katie, you see this? This is what I want to give to you....I always want you to have wide open space."

Meh, I'm not huge on romance. I guess cause I have never been romanced, so not having it done, doesn't bother me.

I was working in Chicago for 3 weeks and only got to come home for one weekend, my last boyfriend, stocked my fridge (as I had left it empty when I left) cleaned my apartment, and was asleep in my bed when I got home... unfortunatly I had been delayed in O'Hare airport for over 8 hours so I didn't get in til 3 in the morning and he had to work the next day... but that was wonderful...
