Well, good news, they are officially engaged! And Captain did the absolute most romantic thing, I swear, he needs to give some lessons in over-the-top, no holds barred, I love my woman and don't care who knows it romance He told her he was coming in tomorrow but actually flew in this morning. He took her, at 2 different times this morning, flower arrangements (one with a box of tissue ). Met with her parents, formally asked for her hand in marriage, then surprised her at work, where he got down on one knee and proposed. Where, of course, she promptly said yes. They just called me and both sounded just absolutely ecstatic and yes, I sat at my desk and cried, I'm so happy for them.
They asked me to post this so everyone can share in their happiness. Best of everything you two, you deserve it! Love you both
Oh and Cap has promised to send pictures, if I get them before he gets back, I'll update and put them on my profile Eeeeeeee Haaaaaaaaaaaa

Far out! If you can maintain respect for each other and walk with the Lord, things'll go great. The captain ought to take the lead spiritually and neither should hold back from each other, unless both agree, according to what the Good Book says. Make sure you agree about what to do with your funds. Do you pay your bills promptly as soon as you get paid of do you wait? Do you stretch your funds to last all month or spend it as soon as you get it? How much will you save? How much will you invest? What temperature do you like to keep the house at? I'd recommend that you share cooking and cleaning duties. I usually take out trash and take care of yard work myself. Will you accumulate a bunch of stuff or throw out what you don't need or use every six months or so? Lots of things to consider before you tie the knot to avoid friction later on down the line. Remember, there's lots of things that aren't worth arguing about. It takes two people to make a fight. If one refuses to fight, there's no conflict. The respect thing I learned the hard way. I didn't respect my last wife very much and she passed away about a year and a half ago and I feel really rotten about it now. I wish I'd treated her a lot better. I treated her OK but I could have done better and I want to tell people so they don't make the same mistakes I did.
