when a candle is lit from both ends,
it's light burns brightly,quickly spends
only to be consumed by it's own flame,
never knowing true love names,
only playing and showing our games,

let the candle stand tall to light only one end,
to give light to this path of my friend,
walk those halls of memories,darkness at it's end,
seeing each life path,as it is crossed,
no blame but our own,for our own pains now tossed,
behind our trails and paths not forgotten or lost,
living only as lessons and memories,now soft as moss,
no longer able to hurt or burn,lingering in our loss,
wolves of fate,will only linger in hate,
those who wish to bite,those who castigate,
this path I chose,our hearts did meet,
we walked it's lonely mile,on padded feet,
made each other smile,begining a love so sweet,
together we would fight the world of past pain,
together we would fight,to know true love again,
but sadly we lashed at each other,bleeding once again,
feeling our own mistakes of forgotten and insane,
never really learning how to heal our love through pain,
forgetting how to ever know,if we never try to love again,
so let your candle stand strong and tall,
let Love light it to show one and all,
the life path we walked of love's call,
tips of icebergs standing oh so tall,
calving off our broken hearts,
in painful little bleeding parts,
leaving us in tattered little pieces,
having just enough love in hearts,
for fathers,sons,nephews and nieces,
family are the only ones,
who can help with these broken pieces,
Love is not only for the strong,
but how did it all go so very wrong,
among the ashs of a firey song,
within our life of shattered dreams
will we ever love again,as friends
not to burn the candle at both ends,
but held together as one upon high,
