Jill No, I agreed that even a moral person could catch a STD. Your response was: LOL that's just plain ignorant

When someone really thinks they like someone, it's best not to step in. Be there for when she falls. You, and I, both, know she will. If you try to tell her different, and she gets mad...whose going to help her later? It's hard, but that's the way it is. The safest advice about the sex stuff is to always wait till you know them enough to ask them to accompany you to the clinic. If both people get tested at the same time, one won't think that the other is suspicious of something. I just tell the man, I would prefer to be safe, than sorry. If he's worth what we are planning to start, he will be happy to comply. The ones who won't, they may be hiding something. Best advice I've got.

Well then I do rephrase... I thought you were stating that moral people don't get STD's
Jill, not at all. I was attacked by the weakest link lady (who she reminds me of) and then it seemed you followed in. Re-read the posts. That's what set her off. |

Jill,
My philosophy is: even a condom can't prevent STD's. Mostly it's who you choose in a partner; you lay down with dogs, you wake up with fleas. Simple and enough said. She comes back with this Are you saying that a moral person can't get std's?
What kind of question is that? I had just implied anyone is at risk and is vulnerable to STD's. I however stand on my statement about STD's. |

I type medical reports. Typed one a few months ago, had never seen it before. This little boy about 2 years old, had herpes in his bronchial tubes. Had to go into the hospital and go under general anesthetic every month so they could treat each one of the sores with cryotherapy (freeze them) to try to stop them from growing. I can't remember the name of the diagnosis, but I looked it up, it is really rare but it said this condition can actually turn into lung cancer in children who have it and if it does most of them die before age 5. I was shocked.
This is apparently why doctors are so careful to perform C-sections on women who have active herpes when they deliver. Somehow, this little guy must have delivered and his mom didn't show active or something, but he is certainly suffering for it. Broke my heart to type that note. |

No offense, but have you ever mentioned this to her partners? I don't think I could consciencely go along with a friend of mine doing that. It would make me feel like a co-conspirator of sorts.

Ok so my friend has been seeing this guy for a little bit, they are not serious but she is starting to have feelings for him. The problem is that the first nite they had sex they both enjoyed themselves and he im'd her the next day and wanted to see her again so he showed up after he got off work and everything was cool and they had a lot of fun drinkin and watchin movies and all that!! Then the next morning he wakes her up at like 4am to have sex but before they did he said he wanted to talk to her for a min and proceeded to tell her that he has "Herpes" and that he is not seriouse about anyone right now he is just having fun and enjoying himself and his freedom!! WTF ![]() ![]() I really need some good advice right now cus what I am telling her she is not listening to cus like I said she really likes him and the way he makes her feel not just sexually...like I said he is good to her and he is a great guy buuuut he should have been a man and been honest with her from jump if he cared about her even just a little bit. All sugestions are welcome...thanx!!! ![]() I suspect you are talking about yourself. A great guy? Good? This man is one SOB. Herpes stays with you for life. I would go see a lawyer and see if you can't sue this "great and good guy" who gave you a lifetime disease. |
|
|
|
So sueing seems to be the theme here. But honestly, can you really sue someone for you making a bad choice? You sleep with someone you don't know and expect everything's gonna be okay because the world is just chalk full of honest people? Sure, they should definitely tell you when they've got some life altering disease, or any disease for that matter, but they're not going to. Which is why you've had safe sex pounded into your head since you were a kid.
Maybe we should just start making everyone wear some kind of colored band, depending on their disease. Or get it tattooed on their hand, that way when you meet them, it's right there! I know. It sucks, but it's life, and their are consequences for your actions. Which you alone are responsible for. Not anyone else. Maybe they got it from someone that wasn't honest with them so it's their sad attempt at revenge. It's simple. Don't have sex with people you don't know! Bad things do happen to good people! |
