Update on my step dad, He did have two strokes, they were brought on by a sugar level of 404, thats stroke level. He is a diabetic, I just talked with him over the phone, he is alert and coherent but he does have some brain damage. The good news is, that the part of the brain that was damaged will not effect his motor skills, or his ability to speak. Earlier this morning he was having some problems speaking, the drugs that reverse the effects of stroke are working. He may get to come home tomorrow

What happened here, is he ate an ice cream bar and half a pie....he is 73, he's a big man, 350 pounds....the doctor told him this morning, absolutely no more sweets. |

My friend does that and then wonders why he's always in the hospital. He's lost both his legs already to diabetes. It's hard
