I take it you are not on medicare yet? There is never a cost to me.

Just got meicade, not old enough yet for meicare. Only 63. Got a little while to go yet.just got medicade a few months ago. This year I'll get the shot though.

I'm 67 - so far between medicare and my secondary (aetna) my bills have been very low. You'll see a nice change when you do qualify.

I know this sounds silly wanting to get older, I can't wait until I get it. I'll be 64 christmas. So I just have a little over a year to wait.

I understand, its not silly. Just for the financial end of things. If congress really wanted to enact universal health care, all they would have to do is put ALL - "Citizens" under medicare.

Yep. Folks would still need a secondary. but it would virtually wipe out people being without any ins at all.

There are a lot out there without insurance. Both my kids where they work don't provide insurance. So they don't have any. They don't make enough money to pay extra for insurance. With the bills and stuff theres just not enough.

Oh I know. Before my wife retired, she was admissions officer at the hosp where she worked for 37 yrs. She would tell me about all the ppl that would come to the emerg room that had no ins at all. The hosp just ate the cost, everything they couldn't collect and it was in turn passed to the the ins co's in other ways. Thats why health ins is as expensive as it is.

Maybe some day things will change for the better. I hope they do for the sack of everyone.

Geez, I hope so. Even a lot of working folks cant afford decent health ins. Everything else is just too expensive. Well I've got to do more running, library and a haircut. I'll be back later on. Rest and take a nice afternoon nap
