are a good indication of their intelligence? Let's see... I'm a classically-trained guitarist, and have played in some way shape or form for the better part of eighteen years now. People seem to keep calling me smart, so I guess I IS smart.

Not at all. In fact, a recent study, shown on tv a couple of days ago, showed that classical music calms dogs (what is their IQ?)and they like it and enjoy it.

I sure hope not. I like loud, rock music that is filled with energy. Most look for other sources, to become informed. Musical appreciation is different for everybody.

i dont think that a person's musical preference has any thing to do with their I.Q..of course im 47 and listen to nursery rhymes all day...anyone want to change my diaper ....

musical tastes? refering to the kind of music they listen to..so no..no correlation at all to their intelligence also...if they listen to nothing at all, that has no correlation at all either.. deaf people cannot hear music, but alot are smart as hell in everything else they do in life yes, i've met dumb people..and even deaf dumb people...lol

Humm I would think that it would not but funny how it seems that the ones that I know that have a wide variety of music and can recite names artist ect are a tad smarter. But to me it has nothing to do with the type of music they like per say.

But to me it has nothing to do with the type of music they like per say. Possibly a correlation between intelligence and people who have a diverse variety of favorite music? You may be on to something here. But that's only because I have a diverse taste in music and it would be nice to have scientific evidence that maybe I'm smarter than a 5th grader.
