Hey all it was a long emotional weekend. As some of you know grandma was in a nursing home for about 5 months, and had periodic visits to the hospital for allergic reactions or difficulty breathing. Who would of thought this last visit would be her last.

To make a long story short she was admitted about 10 days ago for pain in arm and jaw. On Wednesday the day she was to go back to nursing home her lung collapsed, so they put her on a machine to force air into her lungs. Well on Saturday the 23rd I was at work and got a call from mom that the family and Dr. decided to remove this machine as my grandma was a Do not Resuscitate. So they put her on a nasal canula with morphine shots every 1/2 hr for comfort measures.
So, I talked to grandma she was like where are you, I told her at work but I'll be up when I finish and she said I'll let you go don't want to bother you at work. I was like grandma I always have time for you, she said well I just wanted to let you know I love you I said I love you to and lost it.....

So 11 pm i leave work and they had told me at 8 pm she had 2 hrs max.... when the machine was taken off she went blue then bounced back. So 11 pm - 4 am I am there and got to talk to her and let her know she wasn t alone and i loved her. Gave her a kiss and went home.

I returned at 8 am and she was asleep so went to mass at 11 am and prayed that God take her so she didn t have to suffer anymore. As I walked back in room at 12:30 P.M. her eyes opened and closed she had to gasps for air and died.



I Love you Grandma !!

I have to goto the wake today and funeral tomorrow ...

Wow Kojack how sad. My thoughts and prayers are with you and yours and just remember....No matter how painful these things are for us here...things for Grandma are no longer difficult....she is with God.

I am so sorry! I know what it's like to lose a family member/friend. I lost my mother in June 2004! I know exactly what you are going thru! Prayers sent for you and your family!

I'm very sorry for your loss sweetie.

Sorry to hear this....I have been through it as well -- lost one grandmother when I was 10, the other just a few years ago -- and it hurts. I think about them every day, the joy and love and knowledge they gave me, and how I still miss them....

She will always be with you.

As will your many friends here....

Scott while reading this it brought tears to my eyes as the memories flooding back of my own. Just always remember she loved you so.
