Gifts Unseen
We're not so different The likes of you and me. You once my dearest friend, But that was not to be. My attempt to heal that pain inside, To help you smile, only made you hide. You withdrew from this world I made It's ok, there is no shame. Though the rivers of my heart run still, Now I pray for your strength and will. I've seen the heart, no other's seen, Peered upon your pasture's green. I have basked in your sun, though brief You helped to mend what most can't see. You gave a comfort felt And caused my frozen heart to melt. In your shadow, your leaving wake, A piece of heart is yours to take. You leave this spirit but not alone, To make your mends in broken life and home. Fadedspirit 2/23/2008 |
