If this was my Mother.. and she is in her mid Seventies... I would be questioning her veracity in the same way. Just as she would if I was doing this in public.

And I for one, perceive that Duffy IS telling the truth here....and is not "daffy" at all,as is being Insinuated here......but is rather instead, quite an alert lady!!!!

And , btw ,a LOT of older people kid around about their age, after "crossing over the hill", so to speak.
But that does NOT make them a liar.
(I for one, don't even post pics here , simply because one might think I was lying about my age( simply because I don't look my age atall) .

But again, I don't think Duffy was lying at all ,and I am saddened and confused ,as to how that idea , even got started here about Duffy.

Also, what is happening to Duffy isn't a laughing matter...........simply because a lot of senior citizens ARE being targeted today, by scammers...and by people who just hang around their dwelling places,trying to take advantage of them.
Heard of this happening a lot!!

We are all entitled to our opinions. The overwhelming majority was always... keep this out of the threads. Of course, Duffy did not agree with our opinions on that. As is her right.

I'm sorry Morning Song .. but I disagree as well. Here's my thoughts on the subject.

I don't look anywhere near 57 and I refuse to start the relationships I make on JSH with a lie. A lie is a lie. Period. That doesn't cut it with me. In fact the comments I get about how much younger I look fill my positive bucket. So, why not enjoy it eh?

Encouraging a person's dishonesty with sympathy is unacceptable to me.

And honestly, you may THINK Duffy is telling the truth, but you are only surmising such, as the majority of us are surmising differently. Your statement that she 'HAS been telling the truth' is pure assumption. Just like ours is.

To each his own. Duffy brought the thread to our attention, we do have options to comment how we feel about it.

And if she loves to kid so much, then she's probably had a field day at OUR expense instead.

morningsong duffy has been on the sight longer than me and the people above.she told one joke about her age and was branded a liar,a nut etc.a joke is not a lie and i'm sure duffy tells her real age to people she meets and i have no doubt the situation is real.she came here for help and all she got was judgemental bull****.Sorry i am appalled.

are you kidding me? we tried to giver her advice....she didn't want to hear it. There was a few of us that offered some really good advice.....she ignored it. If you are going to ask for advice be willing to listen....if you're not going to listen than don't ask for advice. The fact about the age thing i don't care about...although it does hurt her credibliliy...I encourage you to go back and read the forum...imho

Some people are just not as perceptive to people as others are.... Some people live in a glass bubble, and do not see reality as others do. JMHO.

i read it.she had tried the things we suggested and not all like guns.sorry i work with seniors and have a soft spot for them.working on an Alzheimer's unit i hear lots of wacky things.even non Alzheimer's seniors say wacky things.but i would never disrespect them or call them liars or nuts.thats just wrong in my book.
