Off Beat String
There once was a string that played out of tune His tempo was off, whatever he'd do. He encouraged himself as much as he might Always so off, still yet he tried. The music complained and the chorus got mad, What they didn't know, the string was just sad. Left all alone with no where to go Forsaken and lost, he strummed away slow. Into the shadows, he stayed for a while And listened so deftly as music brought smile. The chorus so elegant like angels that sing, Oh how he knew, what destruction he'd bring. Now off on a journey, he ventured alone. Searching for something that completed his tone. He checked all the songbooks but nothing felt right, He started to think that all was in strife. When all of a sudden the sound that he heard, Caused him to cringe, what a terrible word! Crumpled and worn the music found tears, Tossed into darkness, betrayed by such jeers. Having compassion, the string thought to speak, So played he a tune, ever so weak. The words chimed in with tear laden song While beauty arose from all that was wrong. A crowd gathered round the music displayed, A standing ovation at end was then made. The string found his tempo playing in sync As the words found her beauty, a wonderful thing. On as they played, their music was found, A friendship forever, to each were they bound. Never forgotten was their horrible past That ended in love, forever to last. Fadedspirit 2/19/2008 |

Thank you, sometimes I feel like I am marching to a different drum beat. And I can't ever seem to sing in tune. Took it to the heart.

Thanks MirrorMirror. Thanks for stopping by pkh. You're very welcome sealove. We're all different in our own ways, but that's what makes us unique. lol...I'm always out of tune also, so no worries. Sometimes even out of tune, the song can be a thing of beauty. Thanks kc. I'm glad you liked this one. Thanks for stopping in shauna. |
