I noticed that on some people's profiles, under "body type," they have listed "a few extra pounds," or "average." Just wondering how you decide for yourself what exactly you are....thanks!

It's all subjective...there is a lot of disparity apparently about what people think is "athletic" or "a few extra pounds". There aren't any standards on the site for specifically determining it.

Quite frankly, though, with the obesity problem in the united states, "average" sure ain't what it used to be

I think they should add "Perfectly Me" to the choices.

Hmm...according to the chart, a 5'7 person's BMI could be in the "obese" range according to the CDC but still be an acceptable weight for my height class in the marines. noway

At 5'6" I'd look Ethiopian at the suggested marine corp weight. I'm way too Neandertalish for that nonsense.
