I disagree. Communism is a form of socialism, putting control of property into the hands of the government. it is probably the bloodiest form of government ever conceived since it enslaves the people and rules through fear.

It goes against Ralph Waldo Emerson's concept of individualism, because communism destroys property rights and makes the production of wealth almost impossible. Thereby, it discourages individualism, that is, the use of one's mind to invent and create wealth. In other words, it destroys what makes America great. After all, if everyone gets an equal share of the wealth produced, which is how communism works, there is no incentive for individualism or self-interest, which induces us to go beyond what is expected.

Communism is a brutal system of government. It does not just destroy individualism, but it fails to protect individual rights by establishing a system of force. In order to keep the citizens in line, the government kills/imprisons those who protest. The results of communism have been exactly what one would exexpect, starvation, poverty, and the slaughter of millions.

Look what happened in the Soviet Union. Look at what is happening in Cuba. Thank God every government is not a form of communism. In particular I thank God for our Founding Fathers, the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and all the other wonderful things that make America the Great Country that it is today.

I do understand everything you have said.....and agree with you but do you not see what I mean by a "form" of communism??? We are all dictated by someone.....and we DO NOT get a final say in anything......

The above is opening up such a can of worms that we could post pages and pages and still not come up with an answer. Your statement is such a broad one that it covers social, emotional, political and who knows what other aspects. I could give you a philosophical response, but would put you to sleep in the process.

I love philosophical discussions.....and yes I know I opened up a can of worms.....I am not one to ask simple questions.....opening up the mind is my forte'!!
