now tell me what fun things i can do? Oh geez! Well first, welcome to the land of "fruits flakes and nutz!"   
It's a BIG state..so depends on what part you live in. There is TONS to do out here! I spent most of my life in Oklahoma (armpit USA), so I appreciate all the things to do out here, even though many of the people are either fruits flakes or nutz..or a combination thereof.   
Beach, mountains, desert, amusements parks, concerts... may be easier to list what there is NOT to do in California!
Whatever you do..HAVE FUN!

if you're in southern california (Los Angeles, etc.), there's Universal Citywalk, there's Disneyland, there's Knott's Berry Farm, there's the Hustler Adult Megastore in West Hollywood, there's the 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica, and there's Olvera Street in downdown los angeles. |

U CAN ALWAYS CALL 411 TO FIND A NEARBY CLUB OR ART CLUB... WE HAVE THINGS FOR EVERYONE... IF UR FROM THE SNOW AREA OF USA CALIFORNIA DOESNT SNOW BUT WE MAKE SNOW AT BIG BEAR MOUNTAIN... You could do what I am doing. Summer's coming up so I am swimming building up my stamina for the surf. Cow-a-bun-ga!
You could go to the zoo, the Birch Aquarium, get some season tickets for the old globe, that will get you started. Check for things in "The Reader". It's a free mag found at convienience stores. Don't forget to update your profile it says you are from PA.

To tell you the truth, Swirl, it depends on where in the state, you are. But California is known for the many beaches and some zoons. You could join an organization of some kind, such as a Star Trek fan club, if you're a fan. You can go to any free community events, or fund raising ones, such as pot lucks or bbqs, or even go to a farmers market. If you're on one of the state's coasts, take a trip through the coast. I gurantee you'd like it, especially in our hot summers.
