Well, Huckabee just scored a resounding victory over McCain in Kansas, winning 60% of the caucus and picking up all 36 delegates (it's a take-all state). Ron Paul picked up a semi-surprising 11%.
Does Huckabee's sudden success surprise anyone? Do people prefer him over McCain? And lastly, should Ron Paul run as a non-party endorsed candidate in the general election? Will he? |

Well, I suppose I'd rather have Huckabee than Mccain.. Since Mccain is running on virtually the same foreign and economic policy that the current president. I'll choose either Democrat over both of em though.. Ron Paul is starting a movement.. He's the conservatives last hope to win back their party.. He should definately run as a third party candidate, just to get his message out... |

Huckabee is the true conservitive, and Kansas turns out on the conservitive side for sure... (current govenor not included) McCain took a beating the last couple of weeks from the right... But I don't think Kansas is going to vault huc to the lead...do you?

Well yes if it was right down to the end of the race and all on the line, I would choose / pick Huckabee over John McCain.

But I don't think Kansas is going to vault huc to the lead...do you? Well that depends what you mean by the "lead". It still leaves him way behind in delegates (the technical definition of the lead), but I believe that the momentum is building for him. Now that there are only two frontrunners in the Republican race, he is picking up nearly all of the heavily conservative votes. With McCain becoming increasingly disfavored by conservatives due to his early drift towards the center in preparation of the national election, I feel like the Kansas win was far more important to Huckabee in the momentum category than delegates alone. When people see that he is gathering support, they're more likely to jump on the bandwagon. |

So long as the other two do not get elected I'm fine!! ( Obama,Clinton ) Really? To me, the difference between Huckabee and McCain is larger than the difference between McCain and either of the Dems. |

Maybe I'm putting to much focus on not wanting a democrat to get into office!! That I have not looked over the Huckabee & Mcain too carefully.

hahaha.. Don't try to put your trash on our doorstep.. Mccain isn't even close to a "liberal"... He's acting more less conservative than he really is, I realize that. He's gearing up for a bid at the moderate/independent votes in a general election. But at the same time, Clinton really isn't all that liberal herself. And Huckabee is verrrry conservative. Doesn't mean that I'm right, just my opinion. Patsfan - If you're a Republican I doubt you'll prefer either of the Democratic candidates, but it's always good to know all the contenders. I'm heading out for now, have a good one everybody. The important part here is that no matter what everyone's personal opinion, it's worthless to post it on here if you don't back it up by actually going out and voting! |

Lucky you... I have a 10 month old that wakes me up at 1 am. Ugh, that must be a pain. But at least you know you're responsible! Sounds ridiculous, I know, but sometimes it's depressing how I can hardly run my own life, let alone account for that of another. cascade - Go Obama! And yes, Huckabee concerns me a lot. I try to stay as independent and fair minded as possible, but he is pretty heavy duty right wing. |

It would be good for Huckabee to take the lead over McCain. McCain is too much along the lines of the current administration. Matter of fact, in todays headlines, Bush is endorsing McCain as a "true conservative". I would bewary of anyone that man endorses! Scary! At least he's giving us the headsup of who NOT to vote for.
I voted for Ron Paul in the primary. Unfortunately, Oklahoma is an all Democratic state. They voted Clinton. They need to Wake UP! LOL No, Ron Paul will NOT be running on a third party ticket. He will stay on as a Republican. I would like to see Huckabee take the lead for the Republicans. Couldn't you see a Huckabee/Ron Paul for President and Vice President??? That would be Wonderful!!! |
