First of all Kudos to you - you will be glad when you are my age that you started young
I am 42 and in pretty darn good shape

Second don't go all gun ho you are setting yourself up to fail which is bad for your self esteem

lets say start with drinking water .. I drink about 5 32 oz cups a day
I don't drink pop
and for every cup of coffee or tea I make sure i add 8 oz of water to my intake

yes doll I am a 65 model but i have a daugther that is closer to your age give her a couple of years to before she is legal

Jeez, you ARE in amazing shape, then…could have fooled me. You could have said you were like 23 and I would have believed you.

If it tastes good, then its good for you.

I also lift weights daily and have a fun and active job.
I probably drink either a 2 liter or 7 soft-drinks a day.
so my diets probably the same as sugar and poison.
but at least it tastes good. happy

I haven't been caring too much about my diet, I'm too poor to do anything other than cheap stuff that'll probably kill me, but I have been developing a workout program for myself that basically is "Move randomly with resistance as quickly as you can until you can't move anymore." It seems to be working out well, I've been losing weight.

I was talking to this guy while I was waiting for class to start, and he was talking to me about all these health related things, and with talking to him, I felt like the most unhealthy person, ever.. haha.

And then he was talking about how bad eating habits, and lack of exercise can help increase the chances of heart disease, blood clots, cancer, diabetes, ect.

I knew all this, but it never really registered with me until today.

I've decided I want to start living a lot healthier, as in.. eating foods that will keep me healthy, and stretching each day, because when I'm like, 50, I want to still be able to tie my shoes without sitting, and I want to be able to reach into cupboards, ect.

So, I guess what I wanna know is..

how healthy are your eating habits?
do you stay active, regularly?
what are some good healthy meals?





It is the absolute truth! Take it from me... I just turned 51 and can still tie my shoes! Exercise, healthy eating and drinking LOTS of water is good advice.

I am 43 and I just went into remission as of August 20, 07. I lost 125 lbs so I had to learn how to maintain my weight loss. I started a whole new life style this year and it is a very healthy life style. Its really very simple to follow, it seems like I am always eating and I still drop the weight.
I use to only eat once a day and would never drop any pounds, then I started eating 5 small portions of food a day. That speeds up your matabalism and you can actually drop the weight heathier.
Plus I do work out, I use weights and I ride my exercise bike, then I purchased the RED fitness system. I exercise twice a day for an hour and I am starting to feel much better except the migrains are still a killer! BUT I feel much healthier as far as my eating and my lifestyle. I gave up my pop and I do not eat fast food, I watch my sugar intake and I do not bring any fattening food in my house. If its there, I will eat it!!
