Sometimes she sits alone in the dark
Wondering where life will take her next
To what degree of solitude she will run
What will be the final undoing

Before fear had her caught
In her lonely little atmosphere
Where she lies in wait for death
Only hoping all the while
She'll soon catch her breath
And not let the demons bury her deep
In the silent abyss where her secrets do keep
Far in the depths of her innermost nightmare
Where the child that was once her
Is now staring effortlessly back
Mocking the woman she's become
So afraid of the light, letting the darkness seep in
Through every crack and crevice until night
Has completely obliterated any hope of escape
So what's left to do but lie in surrender
And hope that the demons are unusually kind
And spare her heart while they devour her mind
