good morning ((((((((Daniel))))))))))
How's everything? |
not too bad, not too bad at all.
I finally found a new doctor (psychiatrist) for my son who seems like he will be good. |
Good, I've been there, done that. It's not an easy thing to do. Hope everything works out

It will. I finally have his kindergarten teacher agreeing that he IS having problems in behaviour, and we are going to be talking about having him placed in spec. ed now, before he fails kindergarten due to needing more one on one time with the teacher.

been there, too. Piece of advice, have him tested for learning disabilities and ADD, they tend to go hand in hand. My son's problems stemmed from the learning disabilities and his frustration, which at that age, they don't really know how to express properly.
If you want to e-mail me, feel free! I have been in your shoes and it's not easy. But, it is doable |

I have been in your shoes and it's not easy. But, it is doable I appreciate the advise. He does have adhd, and it looks like he is obsessive compulsive (again hand in hand like you said with the learning disabilities). Been an uphill battle though to get him officially diagnosed due to medicaid not wanting to cooperate with his medications. Thus a new Psych every couple months. Each of the last ones would look at the fact that medicaid would give trouble, and instead of standing up and telling them to follow HIS ( the medical doctors) instructions, he would bend over and drop Joshuas case. We have not seen any signs of learning disabilities as of yet, although they Do run in his family (both sides), but we are keeping an eye out for them. |

The school's can test for that, but you'll probably really have to make some noise about it. I did with mine, took a few months but they finally agreed to test him. LD's are not always so obvious, either. |

yeah I am startign the noise with them now, cause they were trying to prevent me from being able to have him placed int he special ed class. They actually outright told me he had to be ordered in from his doctor, lol. I simply went in a week later and told them I wanted to speak with the school psychologist about having him tested for isd I think the acronym is; it is related to ld's adhd and all that other fun stuff.
They told me I would have to have the teacher reccomend it. Well i am going tot alk to his teacher and the principle and I am going to demand it be done wether they agree or not. his new apt is for the 20th and this should all happen withint he time between now and then, and then I am going to have the doctor backin gme up as well. I have already been ordered to stay home form work last summer in order to care for him. There is no question about wether or not he needs the extra help. |
