keep it elevated to help with swelling..use some naproxen..that will help with swelling as well as pain on top of your pain meds. other than that..I don't think there is much else you can do. HOpe you feel better soon!flowerforyou

wow, that is a rough go.

Go look for, or have someone else find hot/cold packs. Should be able to find some that are plastic wrapped, filled with gel that you can freeze. That should take away the melting ice problem.

other than that, discuss with your doctor, different people react to medication slightly differently, depending on size etc, maybe you need to take higher dosage, or have a stronger medication.

take it easy

Frozen vegies work instead of ice packs (also handy if you get the munchies). But, after that I think I'd invest in one of those attack dog training suits and a helmet.

You can actually take up to 1600 miligrams of IB at a time and every 4 to 6 hours for pain....cold packs do help the best and keep it elevated...if that doesnt work i would be calling the doctor back and asking him for some pain pills...sometimes they will give you tylenol with Cod...which i am surprised they didnt give you something there for it...yeah maybe i would be calling them back right now and telling them you need something more......

go with frozen peas, or frozen corn..

they're small enough to break apart easily, and then mold to the would itself

get some ibuprofin...if you can..get 800mgs...

and i agree...stay away from me..you're an accident waiting to happen lol poor you lol

get a jell pack. you can put them in the freezer or microwave, depending if you need cold or hot. they will conform to your bod and heat or cool in minutes.

How about calling your doctor back and asking him/her for recommendations? Just a thought, after all, he/she *IS* the doc taking care of you and you *ARE* paying them to do this...

Have you heard of Arnica Montana? It comes in a gel that's applied to the skin, and in a pill that dissolves under your tongue. In your case though; I'd use both. It's not medication, it's available anywhere. Health food stores have it, but I'm sure you can get it at CVS. Anyhow; you wouldn't think that the extract of a flower would do a whole lot, but it does man, seriously. If you rub it on a bruise, it dissapears in days rather than weeks. It'll work great for your problem. But for general pain, I don't know. I'm against medication because it's so toxic. I do have advice though. Have you thought about legal recreational drugs? The weird sounding ones from the amazon that aren't illegal here? They have ones for pain. I hear that they're great, but can be expensive. Probably less so than medication though. It's something to think about anyway. Google the word ''Kratom''. Good luck.

Okay honestly stop and think - I believe in allowing the body to heal itself - Pain is the way the body is telling you to slow down -- your chondoblasts and osteoblast are working OT to heal that bone.. I asked which bone it was the tibia side of the Fibula side which makes a big difference in treatment .. The fib side is the one with the little toe the Tib side the big toe ....
