So there's been this big fuss recently at work because they're going to give everyone a raise to try to increase our wages to the "regional average" for what we do (we are quite underpaid). Well, I have been at this job for just over 2 years. I just got my first promotion a few weeks ago. Well, to make a long story short, the raise went into effect the day before I got my promotion, so I'll get the raise on my next paycheck for the ONE day of the pay period between when the raise started and when I got my promotion. And then they'll move me to my new pay rate, without any raise I've already emailed the highest person up to ask them about it, and they confirmed. She said there's nothing that can be done to change it. So they can take their raise and SUCK IT.

I'll still get the raise that comes with my promotion, but that's $200/mo I'm missing out on that I'd get if I'd been hired two or even one day earlier.

I've had something similar happen to me before and know how you feel.... Just keep venting and maybe some one will make things right.

That's the thing though. The one woman in the whole agency who could fix it has already told me that she can't change it.

they plan this stuff they gave us a .50 more per hour and raised are insurance more.i would have to work 2 more hours to break even.and they increased our work by 1/4 .they sell 50 million in sales and make a 8 percent profit and they say that is a fair raise and it is a union shop and if we go over 11 thousand dollars average per person they can raise are insurance .it is greed

Yeah we're pretty worried about that happening, also. So far, they increased our benefit allowance this year, so it was okay this year... but I don't know. And it really bummed me out because I got the news at the end of a 10 hour day.

make sure you have your resume up to date i do.we are up for contract April next year their will be a strike
