Topic: Help my dog is sick | |

I am not playing around with this post my little bichon is throwing up white foam and coughing like he has a fur ball in his throat .. he is drinking and eating and wags his tail at me .. he is my bestest friends My vet is closed this afternoon what should I do ??

does your area have an emergency vet??

take him to a different vet... sounds like he ate something possibly poisonous... give him lots of water and let him vomit it out

See if you can look down it's throat. see if he swallowed something.
Take the food & water away for now, just give it some ice. |

get him into a vet right away though, you don't want to mess with that, I'm a vet tech I've seen this alot... how old is he?

when my vet is closed they leave a number on the machine for another vet who is handling all of the emergency cases.

sorry I was checking on my dog he is two .. he is only vomiting up foam -- I am calling an emergency vet should I give him hydrogene pyroxide like if they injest poison ??

Is he still sick? It could be that he has eaten something he needs to toss (onions, pens). If he is still eating and has not thrown up since, just keep an eye on him. If it is foamy it could be because his stomach is empty.

he ate onions last night could that cause this ?? I was cutting up onions and dropped a piece on the floor and he grabbed it and ran with it .. on hold for Vet now

Sometimes our dogs do that after they eat grass. Then they puke up a huge ball of half digested grass. It's lovely.
