We're having this same debate in two separate threads, but oh well.
Of the first 3 results on a cursory internet search, one describes RINO as a Republican who is not conservative enough. The second explains that it means a Republican who is "too liberal" (As opposed to "a liberal"). The third, however, explicitly defines RINO as "a liberal" who runs as a Republican. I think clearly the term is ambiguous. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Republican_In_Name_Only http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe=off&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&hs=npT&defl=en&q=define:RINO&sa=X&oi=glossary_definition&ct=title http://www.wordspy.com/words/RINO.asp |

I'm somewhat of a moderate, though more a progressive, but yeah, I'm pleased to see Mccain coming out as the front runner. Obamas still pushing strong too, I'll be happy with Obama or Mccain, both moderates;^] Why do you say McCain is a moderate when he is for open borders? Aren't you aware that most of the top Republicans and talk show hosts such as Rush and Coulter are against McCain because of his liberal policies? It just goes to show how irrelevant and powerless Rush and Coulter are in influencing the Republican candidate selection. Coulter hates McCain so much she'll campaign for Hillary if he becomes the nominee? Didn't see that one coming. Perhaps she can have more influence again if she joins the Hillary camp. |
