I think we should have another tax revolt like the Boston Tea Party. Why are we as Americans just accepting that the Government (federal, state, and city) deserves practically half our income? Its really funny how thrilled we are when they send us back $600 rebates from our OWN money. I wish I could give people gifts from their own money. Sure would make gift giving really fun! ;-)

I thought Beard believed that our Founding Fathers were more motivated by economics than by philosphical principles. Additionally, didn't Beard advocate isolation for America, and not intervening in the policies of other nations? |

Additionally, didn't Beard advocate isolation for America, and non-interventionist in the policies of other nations? Well many of the founding fathers were isolationits, and thought that america should not get involved in foreign affiars. |

Well many of the founding fathers were isolationits, and thought that america should not get involved in foreign affiars. That's right. I forgot about that. Washington, in his farewell address to the nation when he left office, said "Beware of foreign entanglements." |
