Games of the Heart

I dropped a tear
And your laughs broke my hold,
By playing with love
You've broken my soul.
You've taken my heart
To tear it apart,
You kill me inside
But spirits don't hide!

You see what you've done
Is sin against me,
Though karma will get you
You'll still not be free.
The tears that you'll cry
Just fountains of shame,
You'll plead and you'll try
To finish the game.

The empty threats, very often you hurl
Have no effect, you once were my girl.
I can play these stupid teen games
And break you inside, till you think I'm insane!
You once knew my heart
And shared in my love!
It wasn't for you
That wasn't enough!

Don't sit there and cry
Your tears are not real
Your feelings don't touch
And.... YOU
I can't heal.

You left me in cold,
Standing there all alone.
You laughed as I cried
And made fun as I died!

Oh how you're cruel,
My demon wants paid,
I hold him back still
Stifling his rage.

I can be cruel but given my mind
I'll just forgive you
As I heal in my time.

Beware of games you play with the heart,
Open your eyes, and think from the start.
Take time to know the one that you hold,
Enter their heart and hold on to their soul.
