The Gift

I sit here and think
What can I do,
For a woman so special
A woman like you.
Something that's different
That comes from the heart,
Nothing too normal,
I want to impart.
Flowers are good,
A song would be nice,
Neither of these
I think would suffice.
A dinner and movie,
Sure things for a date,
Still not as special,
What I wish to relay.
I have to keep thinking,
My mind says with groan,
The voice in my head
Sighs with a moan.
My heart then chimes in
To silence the voice,
Grabbing some duct tape
But feeling no choice.
My mind is subdued,
Stuck in the gray.
Struggling within
What else can I say?
I'll give you a verse
And speak it so soft,
Almost in whisper
As I carry you off.
I'll gaze in your eyes,
While caressing your soul,
Ending with kisses
You've never yet known.
