people can seem mysterious on these sites.
why dont u arrange to meet - public place and all that and see how it goes from there. when u meet it might be great or u may think - no i dont think so. it's easy to feel lustfull when u want a realationship and the flirting is fun and makes u feel good. u never know he may feel the same way about u. hope this helps a bit |

illusion, fantasy, lust and female desire at work here. and you have never met him. "mystery, my dear" as clark gable would say.

Ok. I met someone over the internet a long time ago and our whole 5-year relationship was based around chatting and phone calls and emails. I never met him in person although I really wanted to. I felt we had such a connection, and we did. But I think I was putting too much into the relationship because I was single and really just wanted to feel attractive and loved by someone and he was basically the one constant guy in my life.
I also think I became so emotionally involved because I never did have a chance to meet him and so we never discovered each other's faults and bad habits in person. It was almost like a relationship that couldn't go wrong, and that's why it felt so great. It was "safe" to care about him. It's not sad that you feel so strongly about someone you've never met but feel such a connection toward, I think it would be sad if you did nothing about it and let an opportunity slip away. |

You should definitely try meeting him. Try meeting halfway! You'll never know until you pose the question. If he is a good friend or he fancies you as well, then he's likely to meet you at the halfway point instead of putting the obligation on you or him to travel the entire duration.

Have you considered using Skype or something similar? Could it be that you talk on mobiles cause he already has someone and just doesnt want to get caught? I dont mean to make it ****ty for you but protect yourself and your heart, they can be fragile and/when vaunrable (is the underlying reason you are wanting to meet him so bad the pangs of lonelyness?) At least with a video chat program you get to see him face to face and guage his expressions while talking to him....ie: see if he's lying to you or hiding something........but if he isnt then like buddy way above this post said..meet at a mutually comfortable place in public, I would even suggest having a friend thats not judgmental and is trusting and caring of you sit close by unbeknowest to him.

What is holding you back from meeting? The distance shouldn't... or else you'd not hve started it up with him to begin with.
The longer you wait to meet him, the more you romanticize him and the less he can meet your realistic expectations. Take a day and meet halfway. Have a drink, lunch, whatever. Do not be afraid to tell him that you want to meet and that by what you know by talking you really like him. That does not seem at all weird. |

I'd be concerned that he wasn't available in some way - whether that was legally, emotionally, physically. It is also possible that he may not be as he presented himself to be. Why has 5 months passed between you on a dating site with no plans to meet, provided all safety precautions are in place - especially if it is a long-distance meet? |

Insightful. I've been there and can relate to this. |

BE IT GOOD OR SAD... |
