I've been buying second hand for years, have bought a few things from ebay, once a pair of shoes, turned out didnt fit well, seller took them back no problem. Prefered going to ST. Vincent DePaul, Goodwill, Savers, much of the money they make goes back into charitable work in the community where they're located.
