I don't really think in the case of psychology it matters what you
believe in the way of religion. The whole purpose of spirituality is to give you some place that can help you feel like you're grounded (no not as in punishment)lol I've seen people convert to Buddhism and live happier lives. I"ve also seen people that maintain a Christian/Buddhist belief system. Spirituality is a voice from something that speaks to you, comforts you, and hopefully provides some sort of constant that you can rely on. A solace you can take comfort in. That's why many people with mental or emotional illnesses(and quite a few without) abuse alcohol and drugs. They are looking for something that comforts them and makes them feel better. Somethoing to fill that hole in the soul. |

The battlefield is in the mind. I found this in the Holy Bible.

ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!! Everything that happens in life affects your
psychological state of mind. The trick is not to let some dipshit that is power hungry control your belief system through manipulation and brain washing. Some of the heads of many of the organized religions are very adept at doing this and lost touch with what was once the real belief system of the faith. Too many money grubbing idiots in power in many of the "organized" faiths. That applies to both Christian and Pagan faiths folks. |

I've posted before about is there a God spot( much like a G-spot) OH!
no! I'll get hell for that comment. Maybe I'd better use my Nazi avatar to deviate the flaming to something else. LOL So in other words, is there a biological position in the brain that houses a need for a deity? If so why, and why not Atheists? |

i don't think that it is any different in a atheists brain as opposed to
a religious persons brain but i know that religion has an effect on the believers psyche. i remember the post you are talking about recon(that was a good one)and i'd still be interested to see if there is a reaction in an atheists brain when the ideas of religion are brought up because i think there is a psychological and emotional reaction from both types as far as brain waves are concerned. the main thing i was bringing up when i posted this is the difference of how a religious person perceives a small detail vs. a non religious person. i know that religion can have a positive or negative effect on someones psyche but it all goes into how the influence makes them perceive things differently. |

"the main thing i was bringing up when i posted this is the difference of how a religious person perceives a small detail vs. a non religious person. i know that religion can have a positive or negative effect on someones psyche but it all goes into how the influence makes them perceive things differently" Well, King. I'm sorry but not sure what you are getting at there? I thought what I posted about a person being acutely insane was, in some cultures, a sign that they are somehow in touch with the after world. So they are subject to being a spiritual leader of sorts because, to that culture, they have a gift of spiritual awareness. I believe prayer is in no more then a sort of meditation. Not necessarily a communication with a deity but an inward self actualization or presence. In other words, you matter. |

If you really have a relationship with the Living God, you won't have
room for all the junk the world has to offer. "Seek first the Kingdom of God, and He will give you the desires of your heart." Now, really no one ever desired to be a messed up alcholic or drug addict. Jesus came to give life, and life more abundantly. Satan comes to kill, steal and destroy. True religion is helping the orphans and widows. It's not about religion, it's about relaitonship and covenant with the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Receive Him to be Lord and Savior of your life today. Tomorrow is promised to no one. Jesus is your lifesaver. Trust Him alone. |

Some people who go crazy and are religious may have just had the wrong
beliefs or could be something more, maybe they gave in to satan. Satan works on believers, why would he have to work on people whose souls already belong to him? |
