Topic: Full of Eastern Promise | |
---|---|
Three lads decide to have a quiet night in, chilling out and getting mellow. But after just a couple of spliffs they
run out of gear. The host says, 'Hey, at least we've got plenty of tobacco, so I'll make us one of my specials.' Off he goes to the kitchen to raid the spice rack, where he finds ground coriander, cumin, turmeric and various other dusty powders and faded shreds of vegetable matter. He sprinkles liberal quantities of each into the tobacco and rolls a fat one. On his return he hands it to his best buddy, who lights it and takes a long draw. 'Mmmm, full of Eastern promise,' he says, and promptly passes out. After ten minutes he's still out cold, so they rush him, slowly, to the hospital. The AandE doctor gives him a cursory once over and then calls in the other two men. 'What was he doing? Cannabis?' 'Sort of,' came the reply. 'But we ran out, so I had to fall back on my secret recipe.' 'Oh gawd,' says the doctor. 'What did you put in it?' 'Cumin, coriander, a shake of turmeric and, like, you know, other stuff.' 'Well, that explains it,' sighs the doctor. 'Why, what's wrong with him? He's in a korma.' ![]() ![]() |
