Sitting here gazing into space
my mind wandering in no special place
coffee in one hand, smoke in the other
constantly thinking of how far
the life I've walked, has it brought scars
a walk that came from childhood to manhood
it has been a long walk, so I would
sometimes be happy, sometimes be sad
but some things I've seen have just made me mad
seen the horrors of war, the pain it brings
from a happy man, to wedding rings
from fatherhood, to watching my children grow
now single and watching them go
then the Reaper appeared
and took them to a place,
all people fear when face to face
so now I sit thinking, what was it all for
god I wish I hadn't opened this door
wanted my life to be something
but here I sit starring at nothing.


I went ahead and revised some of it, but yours is great also, so in the end it's up to you.
