many of you who know me know im a proud american and was honored to serve this great country! i am upset at our goverment though...i sure dont think the vets that have poured their lives out for this country are taken care of very well...after all we were willing to give the ultimate sacrafice when ever called on! i served in the marines for 6 years 4 active and 2 reserve...i saw action in the gulf war and particapated in the rescue of not only american citizans but many other nations of this world from being murdered in the most hostile place known on earth...somalia africa....operation eastern exit.....i have been out of the service for over 10 years now and have started a civilian career but ive never been quite right....i get sick alot and ive lost the ability to have children for some unknown reason.....i cant say i blame the military but the similiarities between alot of vets are just to great....for any reason i have been very sick this past year...i had strange infections called MRSA and celulitus that just fromed on my body....i went through alot to recoup from that and had to take alot of powerful medications....which cause the problem im having now.....pancrititis....which caused a blockage from my gall bladder to my small intestines...i just suffered and 8 day stay in the hospital and i think i was very close to death.....i had surgery and removed my gall bladder and they added a stint to keep open the intestine....anyway i am not trying to sound like im *****ing or anything but u you think there would be a vets relief fund for us vets in time of need....ive exausted all my sick time so i am not getting paid for missing all this work...there is no help for me they have told me since i make more money than i need to qualify for any assistance....hard to make money if you cant be at work....thank god for FMLA at least i wont lose my job.....i know there are alot of free loaders out there that buck the system and very few people give to vets because of that....its a shame its that way...there really are us vets that really truely need the help...even if we make more money than we should to quaify for help....i work hard and im a honest person.....so if anyone knows of any such relief centers please contact me.....thanks for your time if you read this!

Well your name pretty much states that you are a marine I have alot of friends that are in the military and from what I am aware of, I thought they did take care of you through the VA?

I served 6 years Army Bro and went to Iraq. Broke my neck and back in a blast and lost some hearing. The Va takes good care of me but Ive heard horror stories especially at Walter Reed hosp. Wish I could help you Brother

My father was in Vietnam from 1967-69 and he didnt recieve benefits from the VA until 95...so what i will tell you is.

Go to a local VA that you might know of some other vets that go to. and know is a good place to go.

State your case, tell them of your employment issues and your medical issues. and im telling you. if you state your case well and let them know its from direct influence of the military, you will get a disability check but there are certain requirements..no drugs..no legal issues..you have to keep a clean slate and go to your VA appointments..that also means no work either..no matter if its under-table cash for any reason.

Currently im a PFC in the US Army. from my experience with my father going through the VA. i know how to handle them and get what i need. if you listen to what i have said..you will get what you need and you might get backpay for the neglect that the military has shown you..i know we come from 2 different branches but the VA is the VA and they are there to help you brother.

So get on them and let them know whats going on

I don't know about the VA benefits thing but I would say contact your local office and see what can be done to help you or if they know of someone that will.

Semper Fi, My step-father served on the Nautilus and was dishonoralby discharged, but got switched to an other than honorable. They are findin out that alot of his medical problems might be stemming from the Sub, but its been a long process, just go to the VA and keep fight my friend. I am in Iraq right now, my mom and step-father are permantly disabled so i help them out with the money.. just hang in there my friend.

hey cowboy! yes my family has a ranch here about 100 acres....we have horses and breed dogs....boxers and huskies and goats...takes alot of work but good thing is i have 9 siblings and we all do our part....never know what the future holds man just keep in touch!
