LOL so you think that they shouldnt have any down time, no time to communicate with family and friends, no time to relax and do something they enjoy. You have no idea what he does over there, so you can not sit there and say that. If it werent for him, and people like him, willing to risk their lives, our country would be a lot ****tier of a place to live!

Not everyone knows exactly where their knowledge came from, atleast he knew it. and HE is fighting to give you the RIGHT to sit there and ridicule him for making a mistake... There are plenty who would disagree. To be sure, he is fighting for our country and that is admirable. But I'm not so sure that his fighting is necessarily premised on losing the right of free speech. |

If we didnt have Soliders over there fighting to keep us safe over here, who knows what would happen. Fighting to keep things over there sure in the hell is protecting all of our rights over here!

All I'm saying is that there wasn't a discernible threat to our freedom of speech post 9/11, except from our own government. Iraq was not threatening to go to war with us and take over our country and destroy the Constitution. I have far less trouble accepting an argument that they are fighting for our safety than an argument that they are fighting for our rights. And I still respect the soldiers equally regardless of the reason, but it's not the same reason.

By the way, I pretty much know where my knowledge comes from. If I don't know where it comes from - then I worry. |

the 3 ways to take us out
1 economy= World trade Center 2 Miltary= Pentagon 3 White house= the Plane that went down in Penn Agree to a point... World Trade Center- An economic dinosaur. The buildings were 30% empty. A symbolic target at best. The Pentagon- Again, symbolic. The entire building could have been vaporized and the government wouldn't have skipped a beat. White House- Again, symbolic... no affect whatsoever on the governemnts ability to function. Just another mess to clean up. Al Quaida picked these targets because they were symbolic of our economic and military superiority. It was a well crafted slap in the face. They were under no impression that by hitting these targets that they were seriously injuring us economically or millitarilly. The attack was the very definition of terror. |

we may not agree on that, thats fine, and i really dont have a problem with you, i have a problem with commonman for what he said about my friend.
once you have lived life as or with a Solider, your mentality of things change. i've seen good people go over there, and sacrifice it all. I know men who I will never get to see again because they have died fighting for this country, and I know men who will never lead normal lives again because of what they saw. |

As a former Soldier I support all soldiers here and overseas. As for our very own government I cant say that. Our government has its own issues and needs some help.

I have lived life as a "SOLDIER". Several years and a couple of purple hearts later - I am what I am now. Lost a brother in Viet-Nam and my Baby brother in Iraq in 91. My family was a military family and it cost me a lot. For your little freedom. |

Wow such petty acts to use spelling as a defensive stance. Andrea has been there for a while giving nothing but support to our troops.
As for myself I too have taken bullets and lost friends to this war. Common your views on this countries freedom apauls me. Why so much hatred? |

As for myself I too have taken bullets and lost friends to this war. Common your views on this countries freedom apauls me. Why so much hatred? No Hatred. I dislike people who follow blindly. I also know how forums work. Most will not read or follow the entire conversation. They will read the latest comments and follow the pack (as it were). I say "know what you are talking about before you talk about it." Here is what Ben Franklin says: "They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security" By the way, he is one of our "Founding Fathers." |

"Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do." Also a quote by one of Our founding fathers.

"Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do." Also a quote by Our founding father. Nice dig. I can appreciate that. But most won't step up to the plate. I will. Even if it means that I am not what is considered 'politically correct.' And that separates me from the fools. |
