the tiburon is nice
well, i mean no offense and i'm sure the car serves her just fine.. but it's a fwd "sports car", and that's no good. nothing geared to be sporty should be front wheel drive, it's a hindrance in many aspects of performance I will give you that there are other sports cars that have more power out there, but truthfully, I have never driven a car that hugs the road better. |

well, i wasn't even really speaking in power. and while your car may handle fairly well, it's still handicapped by the fact that it's fwd. it has a weight balance of 63/47, most fwd cars are balanced this poorly. for optimum handling in and out of a turn, your balance should be 50/50. your car's handling is more a credit to the suspension, tires, and low center of gravity. |

Front wheel drive vehicles work well in most applications but one limiting factor is that when applying power you lose the ability to steer well. They make great off road racers, drag cars, hill climbers, slalom racers, etc....
I generally prefer a rear whell drive car but the weight distribution usually isn't much better than a FWD or possibly even worse. If that's what you're looking for, mid engine is the best and occasionally rear engine like Porsche or Volkswagen cars work exceptionally well.

They make great off road racers, drag cars, hill climbers, slalom racers, etc.... sorry man, but you're wrong on almost all fronts. fwd is horrible for drag racing due to weight transfer on launch and weakness of parts. they're flawed for slalom due to balance. fwd is only decent at poor street conditions, and that's just because of their poor weight balance having most of the vehicle's weight over the drive wheels. you are right(somewhat) about a lot of rwd vehicles having poor weight distribution, but those are mostly domestics. if you look at the miata, s2000, 240sx, rx7, and even some domestics like the sky and solstice...they have near 50/50 weight distribution. but...very few rwd cars have worse weight balance than fwd, very very few RR is quite possibly the worst set up for handling, vw's don't do it well at all. the ass end wants to come around on you in every turn, the only benifit is they're exceptionally well at putting the power down when exiting a turn. vw's do alright in drag because of the weight placement. the porsche, well that's a seriously flawed platform. the only reason the cars do resonably well is because everything else is pushed so far forward to try to counter the poor rear weight bias. the street cars are so full of technology, and that's the only reason they handle. if you'd like to continue this discussion, send me a message. we can take it to a car site a frequent. lots of knowledgeable people there. |

I'd suggest you go back to your car site and learn to read before you post. Where in my post did I say they were the best? Mid engine cars still make the best performance vehicles and front wheel drive cars work "very well". They all have their attributes and detracting factors but are engineered to bring out their best despite their shortfalls. I didn't even bother to mention all wheel drive but I guess that wouldn't matter seeing as how you're an "expert" after listening to "lots of knowledgable people". Better yet, get into cars rather than reading about them. Hands on experience is still the best teacher if you're willing to learn.

an old lady's saturn that needs to be driven into the lake, and drowned because it is a miserable abortion of a car. That's why I got rid of mine - 
funny my saturn is a great car... never had to have a repair on it..gets 26 miles per gallon which isnt bad...maybe u had older models than a 2006 i know they improved them a whole lot... |

a 1996 z24 cavalier I've had no problems with it only problems at the mechanics everytime I go for just an oil change someone says i need new brakes even if i just put them 6 months ago and i just keep getting lies lies and more lies from all of these mechanics. I swear some of those place look at a women think she's stupid and then try to scam them

I have been driving a Mercury sable wagon,it was the best car I could find for the money when I got it. Very nice comfortable car, but a real gas hog.
Been trying to get my Festiva repaired since August, & it was declared dead yesterday. Ugly, uncomfortable, but it got 41 mpg. Buying a Saturn SC2 to replace Festiva & keeping the old wagon for now. I am sure no one will pay what it is worth to me to a backup. Everyone I know that has a Saturn loves it. |
