ok after all the rubbish thats gone on here today...are kids bored or is it more...when i was a kid we were given toys that used our imagination and creativity...are kids given to much ...to the point that they have use there imaginetion in a negative way ????

basically kids can now view all different types of television shows and music listen to all different types of music and some are influenced to follow these people. which isn't always the right thing. But kids have at least one person they look up to and whom ever they might be.. and usually act on how they try to be like someone most of the time that is.

i wasnt given toys...i was given nothing....a pair of shoes....and told go outside and play.....

i used to play ball in the streets all day haha... i never had that many toys.. I just used to watch television and play ball outside

i couldnt even watch the tele.....that is unheard of when you are a child in north dakota

I have to agree, most kids are given to many toys, or sit in front of computer/tv all day.
My girls do have toys, but most of their time is spend outdoors, they have a swimmingpool for warmer days,lol, a trampoline, a tetherball and a volleyball court out back. If the get bored with that, they can go to the pond with their boat. Also lots of trees to climb and trails to explore, I try to keep computer and tv down to aout an hour a day. Oh, almost forgot......there is always a good book waiting to be read

as for me..no matter what toy i was given,it didnt matter..the whole outdoors was my toy...i would be 10 years old when me and my best friend..copine(which is french for friend)..he was an irish wolf hound..big son-of a buck..would go to the forrests of pincourt with a tent..and sleeping bag..with all kinds of goodies..usuallyjunk food..and stay there the whole weekend..
i was an ardent fisher man by that age too....the children of today have forgotten how great the outdoors can be...with videogames...and all my childhood was filled with adventure and joy.. |

excellent miss chiriya...if you as a mom makes sure that your children will have a great appreciation for the outdoors and all of the wonders of nature...then you are assured of raising caring children into caring adults..and fine contributing membser to society..great going.. |

Kids are given expensive toys and not expected to work-lazy is the word that best describes them in general. anyway!!!

Kids are 'given' how to act from us.
We need to be collectively decrying our parenting, not their behavior!
...and I didn't even have shoes in the Summer, unless some hand me downs fit. Ever hear the song Coal Miner's Daughter? Well, that was us.  And the hills. Don't get me started.
