standing in the shadows
along the walls of the alley way '
a slight drizzle begins
and slowly intermingles with
the sweat on his brow
pulling his hat slightly forward
on his face he waits...
for her..
after days of watching her
he knows the path that
she will travel he knows
the times of her day
where she will be
what she will wear
who she will meet
and he waits.... occasionally
glancing down at the
luminous dial on his rather
archaic time piece of crap
banded around his wrist
heart beat quickening
the moon glinting on the
metallic instrument in his
hand as slowly in the distance
he can hear her footsteps
and the tapping of her
high heels she wears so
frequently slowly the foot steps
come closer and closer until she
is so near he can almost
hear her breathe ..he steps out of
the shadows and with a quick hi hun
how was your day she smiles,and oh
yea heres the bracelet you asked
me to pick up at the jewelers for you
i see you got off from work a little later than
usual .....

Hummmmmm things that make you go hummmmmm

lurking in the shadows made me think of a stalker at first.

then of a poor guy that stands back in the shadows for just a moment to have her and happy for what time he gets


but then left me hanging at the end
