“As Life Passes By”

As I sit here and watch the clock.
As it goes tick tock tick tock.
Time seems to pass me by.
In life we always try.
Just to reach that plateau.
But do we ever really know.
What it is we want.
Or will our dreams just come back to haunt.
And bring back the nightmares.
Here once again with the tears.
So many years they have been resting.
Is life once again testing?
Would it not be better to leave up the wall?
Why should we even let it fall?
Just again to hear those words spoken.
And just to have our heart broken.
Why go through the motion.
And have all that commotion.
Is it for the attention?
Is it worth all the tension?
There are so many things to think about.
To often there is doubt.
Why can’t life go by like a breeze?
Slow and smooth with ease.
Instead it goes more like a whirlwind.
And to love we end up blind.
Not knowing were to go.
And we end up going against the flow.
To the point we no longer can take what comes our way.
Off the path we begin to stray.
Do we even dare?
To once more care.
Will we be able to see?
How we want it to be.
Will it be pure?
Can we endure?
All we can do, is once again try.
Before life passes us by.
