Topic: Who pays for dinner? | |
---|---|
Whoever invites should pay. It's better if you make it clear to start. I'll say "let me buy you a cup of coffee" or "let's get pizza, I'm treating"
If I can't really afford to buy I'll say, "wanna share a pizza" or "let's go dutch on a pizza" |

Ok, so on this note..How many of you women do the inviting?

If I invite someone out to dinner I expect to pay the tab. Nothing annoys me more than getting invited to dinner and then I have to pay.

I never ask unless unless we already know eachj other & it's obvious whether we are just friends or dating. I am old fashioned that way.

I've invited a guy out for dinner before, he offered to pay but I said no. I think it's sweet that he offered but I wasn't going to let him pay...

Just simply said would like to see me again and she said Let's go to dinner tonight and I am coming to pick you up...The wallets came out at the same time |

Well actually now days who ever does the inviting is the one to pay but now the other one can offer to leave the tip in the process and yes I have paid for dinner or lunch it is the company I'm out for not the meal nor a roll in the sack afterwards.
Humm does give the woman and advantage for one then we don't feel as if we owe the man anything but a good conversation. |

If she asks she should be expecting to pay...
But if the man insists- it's okay to accept. I'm not saying it should be expected that the man always pays... but everything doesn't have to be an insult or disrespectful. Dating is so confusing - isn't it? |

Who ever does the inviting should pay.
When I offer to pay I and someone tries to pay I get a little offended because I am trying to do something nice, So I treat others the same way if they offer they can pay, but I always try to pay half or buy dessert or drinks or something. |

an italian man would never have it any other way..so the trick would be to make her take you to a very expensive resturant...the kind where you have to hock your kids at the pawnshop for just to pay the tab..like that man did on the flintstones,so he can get that automatic pop-up toaster?..well anyway..when she see's the bill..and her water breaks...your home free.
but yes, i do admit that when a lady makes the invite it is because it is very important for her that you except the invitation..so yes...let liberation reign |

I'm with the ones who say they expect to pay if they ask. I don't argue if my date wants to pay, but probably would offer to pay tip in that case, but back down if he refused even that. Even if he asks, I offer to pay my way.dating is expensive and I don't feel right having the expectation the guy will pay when I have a great job. But that's just me. I let him pay if he wants to in any case. If I were the guy who started this thread, I wold have offered to pay and let her pay if she didn't accept and say thank u. Not sure why shed be upset with that.

All good answers and great advice..but proves to me that each has their own opinion and I have no idea what she expected in paying or not... |
