Topic: My thoughts on piracy. | |
---|---|
This subject is tired, I know, but I feel that I should speak about piracy.
I do not think piracy is truly wrong. This also depends on what it is that you are pirating. If it comes to music, I don't see a big deal in downloading an album or two. This is especially true if the band is no longer around or their material can not be found. If it wasn't for piracy, I wouldn't know about half of the bands I know right now. I feel that we are not robbing from an artist. If the artist is awesome on the album, more than likely I am going to see them live because I enjoy what they do. In my case, I can not see the majority of bands that I like because they no longer play. I feel that piracy isn't that big of a deal. It can introduce people to new music, new ideas, and maybe a new hobby. I do feel that pirating material and then selling it is wrong... but I see nothing wrong in letting someone have some pirated work, free of charge. What do you think? |

I think it's extremely sad that the ONLY good parts of the movie are shown in the trailers... Seems like they are ripping US off sometimes. |

I was happy to see that they did not do that for "No Country for Old Men". That was the best movie I've seen in a very long time. |

Limewire is good for getting free stuff, but has anyone else noticed how poor the sound quality is? I'm a true audiophile so I don't mind paying for proper hi-def music (when I can afford it )

I'm a true audiophile so I don't mind paying for proper hi-def music (when I can afford it ) I never have problems with sound quality. The bitrate of the song will show you how good of quality it is. If it is below 128, I'd stay away from it. |

Bah, download music from torrent sites. If you can't get onto a good private one (I can't :(), just use, like, thepiratebay.org to download. Demonoid worked pretty well when it was up too, but now it was killed.
Anyway, it's immoral to buy music in my opinion. At least from any major label: http://www.justsayhi.com/topic/show/34043 |

Limewire sucks...A friend of mine 2 weeks ago got a letter from Charter Cable and Paraimont Pictures, telling her she had 24 hours to get some movies and music she had on her puter deleted. Or face a 2500.00 fine. She got them from Limewire...So they were embedded with tracers and alot of thier files are corrupt.
So be careful where you get your files from. Winmx and running Peer Garduian is the best...I did it for 8 years...I recently pulled the pin on it. I got everything I wanted. |
