I wrote this one today while at our River Walk and it being a beautiful peaceful day.

Squirrly Gathers Nuts

Sitting on this park bench
Listening to the birds sing,
Feeling a soft breeze blow
Nature's a beautiful thing.
To stop and take the time
Be amazed by God's gift,
To appreciate the wonderment
Gives my soul a lift.

Hearing the traffic go by
Seeing the river flow,
Admiring what God had painted
The majesty it shows.
Seeing squirrels gather nuts
Watching people go by,
A tear flows down freely
As the sun catches my eye.

Why am I sitting here alone?
Something I do not wish,
I'd much rather be with you
Which is something I miss.
You are, where you are
And I am here alone,
Something I am pondering
A place we call our home.

One day we will be together
To share our beautiful dream,
To share in the amazement
Of what we have seen.
There won't be anymore lonliness
No ifs, ands or buts,
Just the two of us together
Watching squirrly gather nuts.

I wish I could have been there personally but this poem took me there..cute little boogers aren't they? I suppose we will have a bunch of them living around our home. Guess I will need to stock up on peanuts and such.
