Been trying to keep an open mind with internet dating..I suppose its a different forum for meeting people...not necessarily a bad thing at all...

Anyone else noticing the "grass is greener" internet dating syndrome?...Seems like theres a problem with people settling for any length of time when theres a barrage of attention being thrown around...I wonder if it fills the ego, a need to be desired for some...Problem is that theres a chance theyre passing up something and someone with value...like..um....myself ...heheheh

I think that's true of a lot of people, but not everyone. I know a lot of people here who aren't looking to feed their ego, they really are looking for the right one. And some are just looking for friends. Unfortunately, for both men and women, you sometimes kiss a lot of frogs before you find the perfect one for you

My guess would be proximity. Most times people that hit it off well are not close to each other. Well, in my experience so far that is. That said, it is hard when there are multiple people trying to get to know someone at the same time. It gets a little overwhelming and people are lost in the shuffle. But, persistence pays off, not stalker type persistence, but hopefully you get my point.

People play the games they play no matter what medium is used. Some do use it for attention, others for venting but it would be the same in a personal setting also. So is life in the human world, we just go on with it.

I definitely think your observation is correct, but then again that is the beauty of online dating. You get to try all different flavors with no commitment until you find the right one for you. It easy to develop a grass is greener syndrome, because today everything is so immediate people expect a relationship (or whatever they are looking for) to develop immediately and if it doesn't they get bored and they move on to the next man, and there are plenty of next men and women, even with all this connectivity there are still a lot of lonely people out there.

Just hang in there you never know when you will meet someone special. At this point in the game I am definately not closing off any avenues though!
