I'm always afraid to put stuff out there when i first talk to a guy i think they will think i'm a freak!! cause i feel a have to tell them right off that i have a phobia called emetophobia aka afraid of throw up or seein others throw up and it comes with alot of issues who would date someone like me? who has that big of an issue???????

Ummm I don't think that is an uncommon "phobia" at all. Many people have that same thing. Why would that be such an "issue"? I don;t see that as being something that would cause a person not to date you.

Um for me throw up starts a chain reaction.. I can't see it, smell it, hear it or even talk about it... I had no idea it was a phobia though.. Going to have to google that one..

well beleive it or not its not to common! would you want to be with someone who constantly checks experation dates won't help you when you are sick cause she can't be around you or have kids cause of it??? its like a bad dream

You don't say what the other issues are, so you may not get the correct advice. Hell you may not get it with all the issues laid out.

I guess if the other issues aren't really wild, I don't see why anyone wouldn't want to date you. How often would it be that you see someone vomit? So I think if you're straight up with the guy there shouldn't be a problem. If there is, he wasn't the one for you.

Ever see the movie "Goonies"?? Where Chunk admits to using fake barf at the movie theatre and everyone started throwing up on everyone else?? it IS coomon..so don;t let that part worry you. You may have to look in other areas that may be a problem..maybe "compulsive obsesive"??

I know I'm an old fart compared to you but I would date someone like you. NO one is perfect. If they say they then you know one of hteir flaws, they are a liar. If someone decides not to date you because of something as trivial as that then you are better off. I have be lucky to have many wonderful people in my life even with ALL of my faults(that say a lot!). I hope this helps.

See with emetophobia, you think bout it all the time everyday it sucks i can't go to partys cause i'm afraid someone will throw up! every where i go its there.....and thats a reason why i can't have kids well part of it anyways

I have 3 sons.. Believe me I gagged through and lost it through loads of those things but had to step up no choice..

I don't like that either. I start gagging and end up doing it myself. I don't think it is that big and issue.

Hell when I had my daughter, she was the first infant I was ever around. I changed her diaper and some poop got under my fingernail...I didn't want to ever change her diaper again. It grossed me out totally. But, I had to do it. Forced myself.
