I'm wondering how McCain did.
I think he has a lot more relevance as a Vet than most of the chicken-**** hawks out there. |

I'm wondering how McCain did. I think he has a lot more relevance as a Vet than most of the chicken-**** hawks out there. That's a very low and weak attack plan. Many of the greatest strategic and political thinkers of history were never in the military or in combat. |

I just get sick
and tired of people who talk tough and they have no idea or concept what being in the military is like. What it means to take an oath that you will die for your country if that's what is necessary. Anyone can talk tough, but not everyone can BE tough. |

I just get sick and tired of people who talk tough and they have no idea or concept what being in the military is like. What it means to take an oath that you will die for your country if that's what is necessary. Anyone can talk tough, but not everyone can BE tough. Being tough is not an issue in this. Being smart, educated, and experienced in military, political, and strategic affairs are what are important, not the size of one's balls to put their life in danger serving one's country. All these men who you claim to be chickenhawks have the interest of the men and women who serve in heart, they are often the first ones to show up at military affairs for servicemen, and organize charity and organizations for them as well. All of us have different paths in life, just because one did not take the life of a soldier means they are any less a person or patriot. When you speak to people who have not they are humbled before these great men and women who have served. They do not treat them as cattle as victims like the other side does, they treat them as true heroes and greater people than they are. I have seen the highest ranks of wealth, the highest ranks of politics humbled, brought to tears, and speechless in the presence of such fine loyal patriots of our country. |

Well I don't consider
either George Bush Jr. or Richard Cheney great leaders. Quite the opposite. Bush avoided Vietnam and Cheney never went in the military. Bush never went to one soldier's funeral. Not one. There are some people like Lincoln who were never in the military, but had genuine concern for the soldiers and sincerely regretted the loss of life. And then there were other Presidents like Teddy Roosevelt who charged over San Juan Hill in Cuba. He was also an inspiration and a great leader. I think we have lost that greatness in our leaders. Now it is all about greed and helping your friends in the corporations. What has happened to America? |

Now it is all about greed and helping your friends in the corporations. What has happened to America? Most of which you said I applaud you for, everything coming after the Bush bash. Very well said, and so very true. He has met with the families of those fallen soldiers and has invited all of them to come to the White House so he can express his sympathy and thanks for the service of their family member. Come on, you know that he can't go to one funeral and then not go to all funerals. Funerals are meant for families and friends, his invitation of families to the White House is his show of respect and gratitude. The President has been brought to tears time and time again when meeting with the families, and unlike some, I believe those tears are very genuine because he is truly humbled by the men and women who serve. |

They only saw the topic title and that's why they moved it. Your first post in the topic has hardly any relevance to politics anyways :) |

Well, that's a lazy excuse.
Maybe he was too busy going on vacation at his ranch. This is not typical of most Presidents who honor the dead. Here's a link explaining how previous Presidents honored our dead, including Republicans: http://hnn.us/articles/1784.html |

Here's a link explaining how previous Presidents honored our dead, including Republicans: http://hnn.us/articles/1784.html lol, your own article shows that past Presidents listed showed up to either one or two funerals or none at all. Your hatred of President Bush is getting the best of you. "This is not typical of most Presidents who honor the dead." You knowingly lied with this statement based on your own presented article! That is horrible, did you not expect us to read it? |
