Most of my poetry is usually pretty docile or even lame at times. This time I acted on a dare to post something different. It was written for fun back in my high school days. Hope I don't offend anyone.



Inner Demon

In darkness he waits
In trouble he's your fate
In darkness he's quelled
In anger he's compelled

Far from a savior
It's the battle that he savors
It's your fear that he eats,
It's your trouble where he sleeps.

The monster in the man
Scheming out his evil plan.

I can feel it in the night
Something tearing deep inside
Screaming in my brain
Now it's driving me insane!

Feeling shattered;
Left to die.
It's what's been done that I can't hide
In a place where there's no tear
Bring to life my darkest fear......

Breaking loose the bonds
Seething rage reborn
Shattered chains of steel
Nothing left to heal.

Death has lost his shroud
Dropped his sickle to the ground
Giving way to lust
Paying back in darkened blood.....

Rise the imps of pain
Your grievance only feigned
Disemboweled by hate
Acting out in senseless rage!

Screaming vile waste,
You dealt to me in hate,
I forgave you once and thrice,
So now you'll pay the final price.

You can break this fragile body,
You can break my lonesome heart,
But you can't escape my demon,
Waiting for you in the dark!
