my pc lose dll files anyone know how or where to replace them ?

go and buy a pocket drive and back up all your files

Easy fix, have u tried throwing your pc out the window? or go to your breaker box and click the breakers on and off

You could search yahoo or google either one will work for how to replace dll and or rather re-download that file.

If anything you could always contact Microsoft for help and or the pc company you have your pc through if it's still under coverage and all.

Could be a sign of a dying hard drive. Before doing anything else, you should back up all your personal data (documents, pictures, music, etc.) ASAP. You can download copies of the missing dll files at http://www.dll-files.com/ but I recommend asking your local tech guru (NOT Geek Squad) to test your hard drive soon.

Try this..
'Windows File Protection, System File Checker'

Assuming you have a copy of your operating system on CD or DVD.. and can actually get into windows.

Put the media (CD or DVD) in the player.

Go to start, run, and type in this command exactly as you see it

sfc /scannow, hit ok... it'll take a while.

Let it do its thing. Occasionally it will want to access the cd's files to repair a file. Click retry if it tells you it is having a hard time finding it.

It goes through and checks all the system files against the database of files it should have. Repairs what is not there or corrupted.

If this doesn't work, tell me exactly what the computer is telling you, word for word... and I'll work on a solution.

It is not a bad idea to transfer the I386 file on the windows cd to the root of your main drive. In other words copy and paste I386 off the cd and paste it on drive C.. so you have a file called c:\i386

After that.. go to the run command... Start, run.. and type in

regedit

Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\
CurrentVersion\Setup

look for 'SourcePath'. It is probably pointed to your cd player. Double click the SourcePatch setting and a new box will pop up allowing you to make the change to C:\

The next time you run sfc /scannow, the files you need will be on the hard drive.

Computers don't lose files...end users do. That's why I make mine wear helmets @ work and lock everything down via GPO...deee..deee.deeee

its just one lost file which has not affected anything its a 2006 dell and the lost fiule only appersa during reboot but system bootsd up fine works and runs smooth ,its windows xp home and my disc is too scratched up to reinstall the lost file i,m just gonna buy xp pro and do new install and fix all the file problems thanks anyway guys

You have either spy/adware on your system or a virus. Download SpyBot (free) and follow the directions....Get a virus scan at Symantec's site (free).

Dll files get randomly deleted due to errors... These can be errors within the Hardives because of bad sectors or over heating. I would recommending getting this checked out since the DLL files dont cost to get replaced however theres a bigger issue there. This also could require a reinstall of the OS you are using. Seems to me that I remember having this problem when i had the Windows ME installed =), if you have this OS i would think this would be the reason, what a terrible OS.

The file may simply need to be re-registered. Look up regsvr32.exe on google for plenty of examples.

Contact Dell. Ask them why you're losing files. I've had a couple of different computers now and my dll files didn't just disappear. Could you have mistakenly erased it? If so, you might be able to just download your Windows XP or whatever you have, again, and the file should come back up.

Also, beware of hackers, especially if you lose files. They are great at stealing from others, or trying to destroy not just files, but firewalls! My younger sister had a firewall destroyed and her hard drive eaten by a hacker. Talk about expensive!
