I don't really think people are that harsh on women any more. At least not around a lot of the people I have known. I've had a couple when I was young and stupid. On the other hand, I wasn't thinking it was going to be a one night stand. But then, maybe it doesn't count. I knew them for a little while, it was just after we had sex I never heard from them again. Of course, I was in the Navy and a little nieve.

I know some women who have been out looking only for the sex and the one night stand, but after a particular nasty divorce, I really couldn't blame her.

I think the only ones we really judge anymore are the ones who go out and have them weekend after weekend after weekend.

On the other hand, I do think we have started to judge men more harshly who do that. I've heard heard women call some men sluts and even their male friends call them sluts. And they do mean it in a critical way.

I think we are merging into a middle ground. Women can have more and sexual relationships without being labeled a slut but men are expected to be more reasonable and not just be hound dogs.

That is the problem...The "Expectation" part of it anyway...
I don't think that people shouldn't "expect" much of anything from another....I think it means trying to mold someone into something that they aren't...by "society's" standards?..

As far as one night stands...I've never experienced it, but I do know a couple of girlfriends of mine who have, which was a LONG time ago, and they are still breathing today..One is now married and seems happy...So even though it isn't for me, that doesn't mean I expect anyone else to be like that, nor judge them for it..

oops I meant should expect..not shouldn't....sheeesh..sorry..

I'm 32 never had one never will..The way I like my sex I prefer to be with someone that I'm comfortable with and can trust..I don't want to end up with some slobbering drunk man who needs GPS..scary...

Personally, she (or I) would have to be god-awful bad in some way for it to just be a one-nighter.

No one night stands anymore for me, did that in my teens.

For some reason this as struck me wrong......half the reason relationships fail is because of cheating right? Well, did anybody every think that maybe because so many people are willing to have a one night stand that it makes it really easy for a cheater to take something home to their partner.
