Yeah lakeman I hear ya. I had a wheel lock up and I think I broke something in my wrist - still pains me from time to time. Kat you'll have to come this way sometime and I WILL meet you at the rink - heck I'll buy your ticket - and we'll SEE who knows how to skate And what first comment?? I'm confoosed!

I LOVE roller skating!! In fact, does anyone know of a reputable place to order really good quad street skates? I am having a hard time finding them around here...........

We used to get in the whip and then wipeout the rest!!! My favorite target was the girls skating with there legs apart. I could crouch and skate right between them....lol

No but the inline skates are better for street!!

I don't like inline skates and prefer the outdoor street speed skates.........they're getting hard to locate.....

Lily go to your local rink and tell 'em what you want. Make sure you're talking with an owner or someone who's skated for a while. Rink help is always pimply-faced high school kids who don't have a clue what they're talking about.

Ugh! Lakeman! Don't DO that! Sure you used Chicago brand skates... and people used to ride in wagons too! Yikes... Man, you really dated yourself with that one!

I tried skating last year, and realized... after 10 years of not doing it, i don't feel like crashing and falling again.

my kids and i go around 1:30 on a saturday...and we stay until they close at 10:30 that night. we skate almost the ENTIRE TIME...with only breaks when the song isn't for us, i.e. junior speed skate or couple skate. we pause for food, and then get our butts right back out there. it's WONDERFUL bonding time...and great exercise.

Well if nothing else this thread has certainly spurred me to order new boots for my skates!
