Topic: Tech Fails & Funny Moments; Let's Share the Chaos! | |
---|---|
We all love talking about our tech wins, but what about those epic fails that had us laughing (or crying) later? I'm talking about:
That time you spent 2 hours troubleshooting something that wasn't even plugged in Accidentally sending a voice message when you thought you were typing Smart home devices that decided to have a mind of their own Autocorrect fails that created the most awkward conversations Video calls where you couldn't figure out how to unmute (we've all been there!) That app you paid for and used exactly once My latest embarrassment: I spent 20 minutes yelling at my smart speaker thinking it was broken, only to realize I'd been calling it by the wrong name the whole time! 🤦♀️ What's your most memorable tech fail or funny moment? Bonus points if it happened in front of other people! Let's laugh about our shared struggles with our digital overlords. Sometimes the fails make the best stories! Drop yours below we need a good laugh! ![]() |

Humm well just bought a new vehicle the end of Feb this year..
I had asked the salesman about how to set up the GPS.. We could only get the GPS to work on my phone, but not come up on the screen in my Nissan Kicks.. So the salesman thought it was my phone since it was not a IPhone.. ![]() Humm well one of my 14 year old grandsons came to stay with me a couple weekends ago. We get in my vehicle, cause he wanted to go to a few thrift stores...He hooks up his phone and gets the GPS to come up on the screen, not a problem.. I told him about mine would not work.. He said Granny give me your phone.. Took him less than 5 min and he had my phone hooked up with GPS on the screen.. Come to find out I had it hooked up through the cigarette lighter port and you have to have it plugged in through the USB Port for it to work.. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The Salesman did not even catch that.. So I went 5 months not being able to have the GPS come up on my screen, so had to listen to it with my phone instead laying next to me... ![]() ![]() ![]() Took my 14 year old grandson to teach me a lesson.. I told him okay when we get home I need to know what I need to do in order to use it again.. He said granny just plug it in the USB Port and not the cigarette lighter port.. ![]() Lesson learned ![]() |

That's hilarious and so relatable! Nothing quite like a teenager making you feel ancient in 5 minutes flat.
![]() At least you got 5 months of practice listening to GPS directions the hard way! And now you have the coolest tech support grandson around. Did he charge you in snacks for the lesson? |

Believe me he got his pay at the thrift stores with his finds he made ![]() ![]() What is so funny to me tho is his mom's parents are rich... I laughed and told him if his other grandma found out he got shirts and a Yeti coffee mug from a thrift store she would flip.. He laughed and said so what I have more fun with you.. ![]() ![]() His mom told me he has been using that yeti mug everyday. ![]() |

Aww, that's so sweet! Sounds like he's got his priorities straight thrift store adventures with Granny beat fancy stuff any day.
There's something special about those treasure hunting trips together, and clearly he values the fun memories over the price tags. Plus now you both have a great story about the GPS lesson! Win-win all around. ![]() |

I love it when you call tech-support and the first thing the guy tells you is to unplug it, wait ten seconds, and plug it back in.
When you tell him you've already tried that; the second thing he does is give you instructions on how to unplug it, wait ten seconds, and plug it back in. |

Oh my God, YES!
![]() The best is when they insist on walking you through it step by step even after you tell them you already did it. Sometimes I wonder if they think we're all lying about the unplugging part! |
