i agree with you there lilith Steven...now you need to come up with a plan and stick to it. Then, your next post can be about how you had this interesting conversation with a friend and that you actuaaly said things out loud that before you only thought in your head! |

I guess the only reason I don't think what I say is because I'm afraid people will make fun of it or what always happens to me, just interrupt me while i am talking.

If people make fun -- laugh WITH them. Interrupt you-- not good manners.

My son's dad was good looking until he opened his mouth... And so this happened after you conceived? |

My question for people, hopefully some women can answer this for me. I am a very quiet person and I know women like a great conversationalist for one of the qualities in a man. I am slowly learning how to be better at conversation, but are there any women in the world who likes a quiet guy? Steven: From the short period of time I've been posting, I have to say I have seen no shortage of comments and participation from you in written format. Stop typing and start talking out loud and you'll be fine. The only problem is, I don't know if you've noticed, most of my topics were about one thing and that was the girl that I was with for a month and a half. I basically posted since day one of that short relationship. I just can't figure out what to talk about when I do talk. I have noticed that this girl is just about all you talk about. Try to find something else to talk about. She should now be considered your past..so move on. Lots of ladies don't like to hear about your past girlfriends, they just think you are stuck on them...thats not a good thing!!! I think you can open up IF you would just try. Its not really that hard..you just need to realize that you are a smart guy and most people find you interesting. Build up your self-confidence and just keep your head up!! Good luck |

I like quiet guys. It makes it kind of fun to see what it takes to get them to speak or squeel =)

Some good advice going on here for you. I don't think it's a matter of quiet or gregarious...maybe more a matter of self-confidence. You can be quiet and shy and still have a strong sense about you if you are self-confident.
If quiet is who you are, that is great! Don't change! Maybe just find a way to exude some confidence in another way. That is what I find attractive in people - when they have a strong sense of self and are ok with who they are. Good luck! |

being quiet is who i am, people in my life have made me believe that I won't get anywhere if i don't talk. That may be true in the working world, but in the social world, i like to be quiet. Some if not most people just don't accept that unfortunately.

You have to live with yourself and not with how others may or may not perceive you... Just concern yourself with your own self-perception and that is all that matters. Be happy with who you are. If not, then you and you alone have the power to change that. |

SHY ONLY GOES SO FAR STEVE. YOU JUST NEED TO BE CHARMING TOO. IM A SHY GUY MYSELF BUT CHARM ADDS CONFIDENCE Eh, sometimes too much charm leads to cockiness. So I don't know. I'm sure he'll find a woman who likes him for him eventually, shy and all. |

Nothing wrong with being quiet...give me a few drinks and I will do all the talking!

About the girl, I think it was partially the talking and partially her own problems, so I don't think you should really blame yourself.
